A Lisbon Itinerary
Spend a beach day at Costa da Caparica
If you can only go to one beach in Lisbon, head to Costa da Caparica’s long stretch of golden beaches just 30-40m in an Uber/Bolt south of the city.
We recommend booking lounge beds and lunch at one of the beach clubs below.
*Must book ahead via their websites!
-
Casa Reîa
Those who have visited us in Lisbon know the drill. Arrive at this bohemian beach club for lunch and sunbaking followed by sunset dancing into the night.
-
Princesa
The relaxing Mediterranean feel of Princesa is our choice for families. If you reserve far enough ahead, they accept group lunch bookings for 10+ people.
-
Praia Piscina
Perfect for a casual and affordable leisurely group lunch and likely to accept a last-minute large booking (15+). Beach beds are more rustic than our other recommendations.
-
Irmão
If you missed your chance to book sunbeds, lay your towels in front of this colorful disco beach club and grab a drink (or pizza) for takeaway.
Wander Lisbon’s Neighborhoods
The best way to explore Lisbon is by wandering through our favorite neighborhoods, stopping for a glass of wine and pastel de nata along the way.
-
Alfama
Alfama, Lisbon's oldest neighborhood. Narrow cobbled streets, charming buildings, and old ladies selling Ginjinha (Portuguese Liquor).
-
Ceramics Shopping
Meet Allegra’s addiction: Portuguese ceramics, known for their intricate hand-painted designs and vibrant colors.
-
Belem
Walk down to Lisbon’s waterfront to rent an electric scooter and ride along the riverbank to Belem.
Enjoy a pastel de nata at the legendary Pastéis de Belém bakery and check out the MAAT museum.
-
A Mirador for Sunset
Check out the sunset from one of Lisbon’s many viewpoints. We like Miradouro da Senhora do Monte and Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara
Explore Sintra
Just a short drive from Lisbon, the town's most iconic feature is its collection of historic palaces, including the colorful Pena Palace, a Moorish Castle, and Quinta da Regaleira. Be sure to book ahead!
